To project razor-sharp
images, DERKSEN® uses special gobos. A Gobo is defined
by Webster's as a dark strip to shield a motion-picture or television
camera from light. This term is also commonly used in the stage and
studio lighting field to describe a plate or slide, usually made of
brass or stainless steel into which an image is cut.
Such gobos require that all parts
are physically connected so that the image does not "fall apart."
Light is then passed through it to project that image on to a surface.
DERKSEN® instead uses chrome-plated glass gobos into
which images are etched, using a proprietary, photographic process.
This ensures that the projected image is true to its original design.
